Francesco Cuomo conteporary artist  has created for Silvio Berlusconi a contemporary artwork

On 10th February at 7pm I had the pleasure to meet Silvio Berlusconi and I gave him a conteporary painting dedicated to him, a work og big irony. He had lot of fun during my explanation. It's a very ironic and caustic work, but a artist must be brave, and believe me that day I was very brave. I also gave him some foulards made by me for his daughters. I spent more than one hour with him and we talked about lot of things, about my Crea firm, my project, my artistic career and the politic future too. I must say that he is a unique person. The president had the certification of autenticity of the work (acrylic on canvas 120x100) and a copy of it has been done and signed by him for me. Eventually he donated me seven ties made for him.

Explication of the conteporary painting at his place, Rome, Palazzo Grazioli:

"Dear preseident, I've always tried to spread good thing about my country all around the world. I love making people smile by associating my works to stories. I dedicated my conteporary artworks to Maradona, queens,popes,managers,children and to my country. Dear president Berlusconi, in my artistic life I couldn't not paint somethinf for you. I believe that you are and you'll be remembered as a great, creative and innovative man. The tile "The martians" is a metaphor. I imagined the day that martians will come and you'll be there waiting dressed in green with a big smile. I wanted to play with your big passion. wemen, trying to minimize what happened in th epast. The complete title is "President, the martians came for real! Are there martians women too?" The work has lot of ironic and caustic details, but that's how irony and satir have to be. The President's head reminds the TV, its big love, his ears parabolic; The aureola, icon of his santity also wants to represents a modern satellite dish that has the power to communicate everywhere. The old satellite dish trying to runaway because it's old. The watering can represents constance and pereseverance. And you, president surrounded by space ships breast shaped represent your martian vision. Finally dear present, you're above the world as a present for its next occupants.The golden chair represents power and your rise. All this for me is just a big creative irony. With love, Francesco Cuomo."
The real job in this case was being brave enough to speak and tell with big passion something so caustic. This is the proof that art must not be something democratic. The artist must be brave enough to express his opinion with big pasion and fearless..
